Wastewater

Providing top-notch engineering services, from preliminary planning,
design and construction to on-going operation, our Wastewater Services Department devotes itself to the design/rehabilitation of wastewater
collection, transmission and treatment systems.

While keeping ahead of the latest changes in regulations, design standards, equipment and technology, DGR Engineering’s wastewater staff strives to maintain simplicity of operation and maintenance considerations as key design goals for this critical community service.

  • wastewater collection, pumping and treatment design
  • sewer rehabilitation
  • coating maintenance for wastewater facilities

Digester Improvements Project

Analyzed digester cover and mixing system alternatives due to condition of existing plant equipment. Selected cover and mixing system to best fit the City’s request for potential future digester gas re-use to reduce plant operational expenses.

Estherville, IA

Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation

The project was bid and came in under budget. Manhole lids were raised to provide better access in some areas, and rehabilitation of the sewer system was completed to give another 50 years of life to the City’s much-needed infrastructure.

Rembrandt, IA

Wastewater Treatment Facility

MBBR technology was chosen based on cost, operational flexibility and most importantly, limited land availability.

Sanborn, IA

Pond Closure

Assisted the City of Luverne in abandoning the industrial wastewater treatment facility formerly owned by Iowa Beef Producers.

Luverne, MN

Treatment Plant & Well Exploration

DGR Engineering worked closely with OCRWS to design a new Water Treatment Plant to target iron and manganese removal from a shallow groundwater source near the site.

Northwest IA

Sludge Handling & Facility Expansion

In addition to doubling the capacity of the lift station by replacing the existing 7.5HP pumps with 15HP pumps, this project also addressed many deficiencies in the sludge collection, processing, and disposal operations.

Wastewater Treatment Facility

LemTec™ system allows the City to meet more stringent permit limits utilizing a robust, easy-to-operate, affordable technology.

Wastewater Treatment Facility
Schleswig, IA

Wastewater Treatment Facility

City of Orange City, IA prepared for the future by adding a mechanical treatment facility to meet both capacity and compliance.

Pump Station & Storage Reservoirs

The new Edgerton Pump Station (EPS) was constructed to facilitate bringing purchased water from Lewis & Clark Regional Water System (L&C) to the LPRW system.

Wastewater Treatment Facility

Designed a SAGR system to be utilized as a polishing step following the City’s aerated lagoon system. The system includes a synthetic liner, aeration lines, rock media, an insulating mulch layer, control structures, and related piping.

Wastewater Treatment Facility

The new plant, rated for 5.3 million gallons per day (MGD) peak day, doubles the capacity of its predecessor.

Low Pressure Collection System

Analyzed collection and treatment alternatives. Designed a septic tank effluent pump (STEP) system for Superior’s residents.

Wastewater Treatment Facility (SBR)

The new SBR system utilizes the existing aeration lagoon for equalization and another lagoon cell for sludge storage, which reduced the cost of the project for the City and provided more operational flexibility.
