Water Main Extension

This project consisted of installing 8” water main beginning approximately 1,700 feet southwest of the Great Bear entrance road and continuing 3,700 feet to the northeast.  This project included water main installation, asphalt removal and replacement, and site restoration and grading.  Also included in this project was the grading and paving for a turn lane approximately 600 feet long on Rice Street for the proposed TJN site.

Recreational Trail

This project consisted of one and a half miles of 8’ wide recreational trail along the Big Sioux River and in the City Park in Dell Rapids, South Dakota.  Also included in this project was a 100’ pedestrian bridge across the Dells of the Big Sioux River and a river access concrete pad in conjunction with the recreational improvements.  Recreational trail paving was with 4” concrete and was made ADA accessible.

River Crossing/Street Improvements

This project consisted of 4,200 L.F. of street improvements on 15th Street (Clark Avenue to Garfield Avenue), Garfield Avenue (15th Street to 12th Street), and State Avenue (Thresher Drive to 12th Street).  Also included in this project were 4,400 feet of water main, 2,000 feet of sanitary sewer, and two directionally drilled river crossings approximately 350 feet each.  Street paving on 15th Street and Garfield Avenue was with 9″ concrete, with asphalt concrete paving used on State Avenue and at intersecting street tie-ins. ADA accessible sidewalks were also installed on this project for safe access to the middle school and high school.

Street & Utility Improvements

This project consisted of 3,700 L.F. of street improvements on 15th Street from Old Highway 77 to Clark Avenue in Dell Rapids.  Also included in this project were improvements to the water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer in conjunction with street improvements.  Street paving on 15th Street was with 9″ concrete, with some asphalt concrete paving used on intersecting street tie-ins. ADA accessible sidewalks were also installed on this project for safe access to the new elementary school.

This project consisted of street improvements on 4th Street from Clark Avenue to Garfield Avenue, which is the downtown business district in Dell Rapids.  Also included in this project were improvements to the water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer in conjunction with street improvements.  Street paving on 4th Street was with 8″ and 9″ concrete, with some asphalt concrete paving used on intersecting street tie-ins.  All sidewalks were also reconstructed with the use of colored concrete inlays and the existing street lighting was replaced with decorative street lights.
