Leadership Transition Announced

February 21, 2025

DGR Engineering (DGR) is pleased to announce several leadership changes effective February 21, 2025.

Curt Dieren has been elected as President of the firm, succeeding Blair Metzger. Dieren is the seventh individual to serve in that role since the company’s incorporation in 1965. Curt started his career as an Electrical Engineer in 1992 after graduating from South Dakota State University. He advanced to Project Manager within the Electrical Power Department in 1997. Curt was appointed to the firm’s Board of Directors in 2009 and was named Electrical Power Department Head in 2010. Curt has played a key role in developing client relationships over a wide range of projects.

“I want to thank the DGR Engineering Directors and Shareholders for their support in electing me to this position for the Company. My objective in this new role will be to continue the long-term success in growth and progression of the firm by empowering our employees to be trusted partners for our clients in meeting their infrastructure engineering needs,” said Dieren.

Blair Metzger will remain active in the Electrical Power Department, continuing his work with clients. “It has been a privilege to have led our company for the past 15 years. I have been incredibly blessed during that time by the support of our staff and fellow company leaders, who have allowed me to not only provide corporate leadership, but also to remain engaged in a significant amount of client work. I look forward to continuing to engage with our many loyal clients as I transition out of my leadership role. And it will be exciting to see where the company goes under Curt’s leadership,” commented Metzger.

Additionally, Chad Rasmussen has been named Head of the Electrical Power Department, and Troy Metzger has been selected to be Assistant Department Head.

Chad Rasmussen joined DGR Engineering in 1996 as an electrical engineer and worked on various projects for municipal electric utilities and industrial clients before becoming Project Manager within the department in 2001.  Chad was named Assistant Department Head in 2010. His recent experience includes work on several large power plant projects.

Troy Metzger joined DGR Engineering in 2002 and has experience in engineering and management on a wide range of electric power projects in the region.  He will continue in this role along with adding his new administrative duties.
