DGR Engineering was represented by Patrick Deering last week in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the trip was to meet with Senators concerning federal funding allocation for the Rural Water Program for five authorized rural water projects funded by the Bureau of Reclamation. Patrick, right, is pictured with U.S. Senator Joni Ernst and Murray Hulstein from the City of Sioux Center, Iowa.
DGR Engineering is proud to be a part of this Osceola County Rural Water System project.
It consists of the construction of a new 2,400 gpm water treatment plant and a 1.0 million gallon ground storage reservoir. The plant will remove iron and manganese from the groundwater through aeration, detention, and filtration treatment processes. The project also includes constructing two backwash water storage ponds.
The contractor, Grundman Hicks, has spent the last few weeks installing rebar and pouring concrete. They are currently setting wall forms on the north side of the building.
Work continues on the Randall Community Water District Pipeline Project, including rural installation of approximately 5.5 miles of 24” PVC pipe and construction of a 3 million gallon tank. Coordination with DOT and the Yankton Sioux Tribe are integral components of this project.
