Things are happening at the Sioux Center Middle School!
This DGR project included designing a safer drop off/pick up zone,
as well as new basketball courts and a gaga pit (it’s a place for a
game that is similar to Dodge ball, but only one ball is used),
and storm water detention pond.
DGR Engineering has again been recognized by PSMJ Resources, Inc.as a member of the Circle of Excellence. This is the fourth year in a row DGR Engineering has earned this honor. Seventy-three exceptional architecture and engineering firms made it onto the exclusive list this year.
PSMJ’s Circle of Excellence honorees are chosen based on thirteen business metrics important to the successful operation of an engineering business, including the following:PSMJ Resources, the premier management consulting firm for the architecture, engineering, and construction industries, annually selects firms for this honor. PSMJ’s Circle of Excellence is designed to highlight firms that are successfully managed and demonstrate outstanding achievements in areas such asproductivity, business development, staff growth, staff turnover, and overhead management.
- Low Staff Turnover– Staff has remained stable through the years, providing its clients with long-term relationships and deep loyalty, leading to a better understanding of the organizations with whom DGR Engineering works.
- Operating Overhead Rate– DGR Engineering’s effective and efficient practices keep overhead costs down, helping to keep cost under control for clients.
- Labor Utilization– PSMJ also noted DGR Engineering’s exceptional efficiency at focusing on productive work for its clients.

A DGR team, led by Brian Meyer, is working on the development of a new $25 million airport for Sioux County, Iowa. Tasks include planning, design and construction activities. Construction of the $3.5 million first grading phase was completed in 2016. Construction of the $4 million initial paving project will be completed in 2017. A final $5 million paving and electrical project is just starting and is scheduled for completion in 2018. DGR is currently designing various terminal area buildings and hangars along with support facilities such as fuel systems and airport navigation systems.
