DGR Engineering was honored to receive a Special Recognition Award recently from the Iowa Concrete Paving Association. The award acknowledges the high quality of design and workmanship demonstrated on the Sioux County Regional Airport project. Congratulations to all involved!
We’re happy to welcome Andrew Nielson to DGR Engineering. He joins our Sioux Falls civil department as a land surveyor/civil technician. Andrew received his Associates of Civil Engineering Technology Degree from Southeast Technical Institute.
He and his wife have three children along with three Labrador retrievers. His hobbies include hunting, camping, photography and activities with his kids. Engineering runs in the family for Andrew. Of his six brothers, three also work in the engineering field.
A retirement open house was held Thursday, April 12 in Yankton, SD honoring Vernon Arens for his 41-year career in engineering.
Following his education at the South Dakota School of Mines, Vernon worked 12 years for SPN and 8 years at B&E Engineering.
He then opened Arens Engineering in Yankton in 1996, before joining DGR Engineering. He has
had a long and honorable work history serving many towns in southeast South Dakota, and the Yankton community on a wide variety of engineering and surveying projects.
