New Water Treatment Plant
Lyon and Sioux RWS has operated the George Well Field since the mid 1970’s with many of the wells dating back to the original construction. Through the Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants program, the System received a $500,000 grant for construction of a new water treatment plant in response to the drought of 2012.
Construction consisted of two automatic valveless gravity filters, pre-engineered metal building with concrete clearwell, yard and process piping, line shaft turbine high service pumps, HVAC, electrical and control, and site work including an earthen backwash storage pond.
