Metzger Awarded DGR Engineering Scholarship

Grant Metzger, Rock Rapids, IA has been awarded the 2017-2018 DGR Engineering Scholarship.
Grant is the son of Jerome and Jana Metzger and attends South Dakota State University,
Brookings, SD. He has received a cash award of $2,000 towards the 2017-2018 academic
year in recognition of his academic accomplishments and expectation of achievement
in the engineering profession.
Grant serves as SDSU IEEE Treasurer, co-chaired Engineers Week, co-chaired the Spring Engineering
Career Fair, volunteered at the Brookings Boys and Girls Club, and served as a career development
ambassador. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the SDSU Honors College
and has a 4.0 cumulative grade point average.
The DGR Engineering scholarship is awarded annually to an applicant who has completed 30 semester
credit hours by June 1 of the current year in an accredited undergraduate engineering or land surveying
degree program within the United States, and has a minimum 3.0 composite collegiate GPA.
DGR Engineering has created this scholarship for the purpose of promoting and advancing
the engineering profession in this region.
